Progress reviews are more than just the daily communication on board. A progress review is based on observation and evaluation of the student’s actions and results, they are important milestones for representing the development of the students during their time at Ocean College. Both the project, and the ship’s crew will carefully observe the processes aboard the ship, and regularly discuss the student’s growth and development.
Progress reviews will take place three times with each student over the course of the six-month journey. During these discussions the student will receive feedback and guidance based on their individual growth. These discussions will be value-neutral, comprehensive, and motivational. Afterwards, the student will be able to set measurable goals for the duration of his / her time on board. The reviews will take place in a setting where the project leaders and the students both have the opportunity to provide their input. These progress reviews between the students and the staff are an important element for quality management at Ocean College.
