The Last
Since this is my last daily report, as all of them are lately, I was already thinking about it a few days in advance. On lookout during my 00:00 to 04:00 watch I had the idea for this one. When you’re just watching the sea, ideas sometimes tend to pop up inside your head, some of them ridiculous and abandoned straight away and others with more potential and followed further. This was one of the latter.
I was thinking about… I don’t remember what I was thinking about, but one way or another I came to the conclusion that I am thankful for really a lot of things in my life. So here goes:

I’m grateful for…
All the people that made this journey possible for me
My parents, my grandparents, anyone else supporting me in any way
Being in the financial situation to afford a six-month Ocean Voyage
High Seas High School, which led me to Ocean College
Ocean College
Seas Your Future
The „Pelican of London“
The Pelican’s professional crew
The three teachers who are more than just teachers
All the work in Ocean Colleges back office in Berlin
My shipmates supporting each other and myself throughout the whole voyage
Everyone keeping the Pelican from falling apart, including ourselves
Everyone inspiring young and old around the world
Hanna letting me sit on her bed to write this report
Sophie letting me use her adapter to charge my laptop
The people who worked and work to produce my things
Food, especially good food and Chinese food, most of all good Chinese food and sushi
Water
Peace
Love
Light
Warmth
Electricity
Hugs
Happiness
Memorable moments
My education
Working toilets
Toilet paper
Clothing
Good health care
Functioning washing machines
My bed at home and at sea
The scarf my kindergarten friend sewed for me
Books
The internet
Telephones
All musicians and their music
All the creative brains out there
Soap
My headlamp
My hats
My harness
Seasickness medication
My toothbrush and toothpaste
The people who invented hot chocolate
Being gifted a hot chocolate at 04:00 on Christmas morning
Being able to know there are people that will always be there for me when I need it
Being healthy
Being able to swim
Being a Berliner
The Berlin wall falling
Being part of a happy and whole family
Being part of a second family, too
Having a sister
Living in a safe and prosperous country
Having two nationalities and two native languages
The sun rising every morning
The stars rising every evening
Our planet, its nature and everything protecting it
Everything that made me who I am
Being alive.

That’s the list of it, if I were to name all of the things I’m grateful for, I’d be here forever. Or almost, at least. To anyone or anything else, that feels sad, forgotten on the list, or in any way unhappy, or also happy, anyone or anything that made a difference in my life, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant: Thank you.
The others
This would have been a fitting ending for my daily report, however, it seems I inspired other people in their thankfulness and I do not want to restrict them in saying their thanks, so I decided to give them space here.
