Watch
Today we had watch from 0:00 to 4:00 a.m. It was very cold and you had the feeling that icicles were growing on your nose. There was so little wind that we were only sailing at 3 knots. It was so slow that everyone had the feeling we were anchoring. At around 3:30 a.m. we took in the sails and motored on, so that we anchored off Wales at around 3 p.m. The landscape looked very idyllic and beautiful from afar.
Shore leave
Afterwards we went ashore by dinghy. The village we stayed in was small but very beautiful. Many of us went into the water for a swim, even though it felt like -10°C. Most of us even washed their hair under water. Afterwards, we went out for ice cream. It was super expensive but mega tasty and the scoops were huge. After about 1 ½ beautiful and very sunny hours on land, we went back to the water to be picked up one by one and get back on the Pelican.
Evening activities
For dinner we had pasta with spinach and chicken. After dinner we ate carrot cake and enjoyed 10 oranges. The journey was not to continue until the next morning, so we enjoyed various activities such as playing poker, having nice conversations, and practicing knots. Finally, some of us went to sleep while others prepared for the nightly harbor watch.
