Bike tour

After a short Breakfast we had our first ”new crew” meeting, with the project leaders, teachers, Justus (the new one), medic, officers, engineers, bosuns and our great Captain Theodor. In Captain Theodors meeting we organized the new watches and other stuff. Then we got ready and went to the „Peter Café Sport“, from where we were driven in groups of four to the top point of Faial, a volcano named Caldeira. Our bicycles got driven up by a Pickup truck. On the top point we saw the exiting volcano crater. After this we had an One hour long relaxed drive always downhill, with an extreme nice view over the coast of Faial. We stoped often to take photos or to enjoy the great view. The end of the bike tour was the „Peter Cafe Sport“ again. Many of us picked up letters there. We were really happy to read the greeds from our dears at home. This was the very best bike tour we had by Ocean College. Great experience!

Mathtest and free-shore-leave

After lunch we had an short mathtest about statistics. As soon as we finished the test we had free shore leave. We explored a bit more the city and enjoyed the nice cheap prices in the cafés and supermarkets. I got an portion French fries for two euros.

Barbecuing

Martin organized a nice barbecue for this evening. He bought different meat and vegetarian stuff. Brian and Blümi, our barbecue masters, barbecued us the whole evening fresh patty’s so we could make burgers. Delicious!

I can’t really get that this is our last stop and my last daily report on this great big journey. Also when we are all looking forward to our friends and family’s at home it is really sad that it will be over soon and never will be again as it is right now.

We had an really nice first day on the Azores with great impressions from the bike tour.
