A calm day on the Johnny

Today was a calm day aboard the Johnny. With no wind in sight, we had to rely on the motor to get us moving. The silver lining, however, was the absence of waves, which made for a smooth and relaxing journey.

A productive school day

Our school day began with Spanish, where we worked in pairs on our dialogues. It was a great opportunity to collaborate and practice the language. In mathematics, we continued working on our learning videos and then, in English, we explored philosophical concepts. We reflected on moments when we feel most like ourselves and those when we don’t, all within the framework of a self-reflective writing course.

Learning about nautical careers

Afterwards, Alexandra, one of our officers, gave a fascinating presentation on how to begin a career in the maritime industry. She outlined the necessary steps to land a job at sea and shared intriguing possibilities, such as spending your holidays working on a cargo ship. It was inspiring to hear about all the opportunities.

A tasty surprise for Dinner

For dinner, Yannick and Jacob treated us to a delicious meal of pulled chicken served with burger buns and salad. Everyone was thrilled with the tasty dish, which left us both satisfied and full.

Anticipating tomorrow’s weather

The excitement didn’t end there, though. We heard that tomorrow’s weather could bring strong winds and big waves, according to the forecast. As for me, I’m feeling a bit nervous because I have galley duty tomorrow and I really don’t want my carefully prepared food to end up on the floor. We’ll see what tomorrow brings!
