If I think about home I have mixed feelings. First of all I am really looking forward to seeing my family, my dogs, my friends, my bed and everything at home again. But I’m also going to miss my new family. It surprised me how close you can get to people you live with when I came to Ocean College. The people I meet here saw me when I was at my worst and at my best. We laughed together, we cried together, we vomited together, we did everything together for half a year and I think that is what makes our friendships different from them at home. And even if it was hard sometimes it is going to feel weird waking up alone and not with five other people around you.

The people I met on Ocean College have been my new family for the past six months and I think most of the friends I made here are friends for life. It was like entering a different world for half a year and forgetting everything at home. During these six months I probably learned more about myself then I did in the past 14 years and I think everyone did. We all changed. We got stronger, older, more independent and everyone of us can be proud of what we made.
We saw the world from a different side. We learned how grateful we can be for all the things we have at home and how different people life in other places. How hard it can be to not just saying: „Oh, I’m tired, I don’t want to work now“ and how important it is to be there for each other. After the time being away from home and the high living standards at home I can appreciate them so much more. Even if it is just the simple or little things.

But even if it was a great time I think all of us miss our homes and family’s and now we only have two weeks left. Two from 28. The time past by so fast that it is so important to enjoy every single moment because before we all know it’s over and we are back in our normal lives. These six months were the best ones I have ever had in my life and I hope everyone who also gets the chance to do something like I did can enjoy it as much as I did.

Because this is my last daily report I want to thank everybody that helped me to make this the greatest half a year I’ve ever had:

Ich bedanke mich bei meinem ehemaligen Mathelehrer Herrn Bauer, ohne Sie hätte ich diese Reise nicht gemacht. Ich bedanke mich noch bei allen anderen, die mich unterstützt haben. Ich hatte die beste Zeit meines Lebens <3
Und ich grüße meine Eltern und meine Freunde zu Hause, ich hab‘ euch alle lieb und freu‘ mich auf euch!

Marlon:
So, erstmal grüße ich meine Mum und meinen Dad und hoffe, dass bei euch alles gut ist. Dann grüße ich alle meine Großeltern und bedanke mich für alle Postkarten und Briefe. Und zuletzt meine Klasse, ich hoffe, ihr musstet im vergangen halben Jahr nicht zu sehr leiden. Wir sehen uns bald wieder und bis dahin haltet die Ohren steif.😉
