Today our wake-up call was at 4:30. After we went outside, we got on the bus and drove roughly one hour to the port.

At 9:00 we got on the ferry for our one-hour ride to Morocco. The immigration process was slow and after we got off the ferry, we had to wait for nearly an hour for our bus to arrive. Then the ride finally started.

We drove through cities and the countryside and saw sheep, horses, cows and goats while driving next to the ocean.

We also stopped at a gas station for food and continued our ride. The bus ride was not bad, though it was very hot and after hours on the bus, it was not the cleanest place anymore… but the good music kept our spirits high.

We are all excited to visit Morocco with its beautiful landscapes and its interesting history and culture.

At 10:30 we arrived at our hotel. After living in the small cabins of the Roald Amundsen for two weeks, we’re all really excited for a normal-sized bed and some more personal space.

After finally arriving at a beautiful riad in Essaouira, we went to a restaurant and ate delicious traditional Moroccan food (tajine).

What a great experience!
