You know the beautiful feeling when you wake up and you’re just happy that you don’t have to shit in a pot? No, you probably don’t… a few days ago we didn’t either. But since we experienced a Stromausfall yesterday, we can now imagine how life on a ship must have looked a long time ago without water and electricity.

And let me tell you, it’s not very comfortable. That’s why we’re all grateful that Bob, our new mechanic, could fix our problem this morning. A big applause for Bob!!

So, after the Christmas festivities have come to an end, we could return to our daily routine – which includes school. Maybe the only reason why I wouldn’t mind not having electricity a bit longer. But of course we love Sören with all his Alkane und Isomere and Birte with her perezosos and arañas. Nos gusta mucho!

Not just our favorite teachers (besides Josi and Helena) and a functioning toilet make us happy, but also a lot of little things we sometimes forget about. So here is a little insight into things or moments we’re grateful/happy about here on board the Johnny:

Margot: lying on the sun deck, talking while watching the sunset.

Vincent & Roque: the Super Sparrow and the night sky.

Helene: lying on deck with my MP3 player and good weather.

Paul: the night sky, the community, the Caribbean.

Charlotte: the good friendships and the community.

Manja: jumping off the Johnny right into the water when we had a swim stop.

Mathilda: good music, the air conditioning, aftersun.

Ylva: looking at the waves while talking and enjoying the good weather.

Emil: lying in the sunlight.

Munguru: new friendships.

Tom: duc tape.

Liv: my bed, good music and nice sunsets.

Birte: lying on the sail bunks, the sea flat share, my fan.

Nepomuk: the possibility to even be here and have this experience. Also the people and the beautiful nature, which improve every single day at sea.
