The Highlights

After all the exhausting weeks, where we didn’t have enough sleep and energy, we started today with tasty bread (Brötchen). This was a big highlight, because afterwards nothing special happened, except that we set the “Breitfock” and the “Ratopsegel”.

The “Ratopsegel” looks very cool and reminds us of Pirates of the Caribbean. Also, we tried to cool down in the seagarden and we sailed five knots without the engine.

Because we didn’t use the engine, we tried to fish today, but we didn’t catch one, so we had to eat our normal food. In the afternoon we saw a very nice sky with stars and the moon and under this view we will sail through the whole night.

A normal chill day

When we don’t have a school day, we have a watch day. This new situation makes it possible that we can chill every second day (watch day).

When we chill, we play card games, knit and enjoy the sun. Obviously, watch is not only chilling. We have to be concentrated for two times four hours per day, because all the other 33 persons depend on you and your team.

You have to make sure that you don’t leave the right course, crash with other boats or lose a person. In addition, you don’t have a break, because all four positions — the person using the steering wheel, two people searching the horizon for ships and one at the bridge making the position — have to be covered.

But at least we have an eight-hour break between the watches, where we can sleep and chill.

On school days, we first have a nautical lesson with Michael; we learn about the wind and clouds. After this, we have another subject; today it was chemistry with Sören. Our new topic is “Alkane”. After chemistry we had lunch — today a tasty potato soup and pudding for dessert.

At 15:00. we have SL, this means “Selbstlernzeit”. In this time we learn things for our school at home; we can do every subject.

After coffee and cake we can go to AGs. For now, we only have languages, but we also want to do other things like knitting, sports, art and discussion. But for this we still have to set up a plan about who does which course. After AGs we chill and are happy about a tasty dinner.

Our day ends with a nice sunset and a cool talk on our terrace.

Margot: coucou les cocos. On se rapproche de cabo Verde !! Il fait trop beau et j’ai watch jusqu’à midi . Là je fait le “ Ausguck“ mais comme toujours, sauf l’eau y’a rien a voir. Heureusement, sinon je l’aurais probablement pas vu… Jaimerais trop savoir ce que vous êtes entrain de faire. Bisouuuusss
