Update

It’s day two in Morocco (Essaouira) and crêpe has become a staple food — but it tastes really good. Unfortunately, Moroccan food isn’t as good as expected.

Daily Routine

The day began with a tasty breakfast at the riad, as everyone had finally been able to sleep in. After breakfast, we split into two groups and the first group went surfing. We had a total of three surf teachers and a dog who accompanied us on the beach. There were also camels and horses.

We all really enjoyed surfing and are already looking forward to the next few days. As far as I can tell, everyone was quite good at surfing.

After the beach, we went to a spice shop together, where we were served tea and honey — cactus honey, eucalyptus honey and other kinds — all of which were offered free of charge.

Finally, we had some freeshore leave (the name doesn’t really make sense, by the way) and bought scarves and spices. They even made custom-tailored clothing.

Impressions

In conclusion, we can say that Morocco is truly interesting and quite different from what we are used to in Europe. We are excited to see what the next few days will bring and will report back tomorrow with another daily update.
