Whales sighted!

Today was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, it was warm and there was a light breeze. Sadly, we could not set any sails and are still going by engine. There wasn’t much to do, so we did our laundry and chilled on top of the bridge. The watches were calm, but at half past three, the C watch spotted whales 🙂

They were far away, but we still saw the spray of water and the upper part of the whales when they came out of the water. Many were disappointed that they didn’t see the whales, but the lucky three who did are overjoyed.

What is the thing you miss most about living on land?

Helene: Being able to do simple stuff quickly, like going to the toilet or having a dishwasher.
Munguru: A casual day.
Ellena: I think what I miss most is the variety of food I have at home.
Mathilda: The things I miss most are dishwashers and a little bit of sleep.
Lotta: Seeing new scenery every day.
Charlotte: A shower, a big bed, a dishwasher, not having to cook for 37 people, space for my stuff and sleep.
Mats: My stuffed animal.
Margot: Definitely having my own bed and dishwashers.
Sophie: Not throwing up every week.
Sebastian (Crew): Walking in the forest.

How did you handle seasickness?

Munguru: Good mood and my brilliant charm.
Helene: Sleeping.
Ellena: At first, it was not great, but now my seasickness is fine.
Mathilda: Throwing up.
Lotta: Sleeping, resting.
Charlotte: It went well, I am perfectly fine 🙂
Mats: I was not seasick.
Margot: Sleeping, eating, accepting the fact that I haven’t showered or brushed my teeth for way too long (reeeuuuudiggg…).
Sophie: Living in the mess, sleeping and throwing up. Last time I was seasick, I did not move from my spot in the mess for 48 hours, except for moving to throw up 🙂
Sebastian: I don’t get seasick.

What was your highlight from the last three weeks?

Munguru: To learn about weather and clouds, to chill with my watch at night and to learn how to sail.
Helene: Sitting on the bridge in the sun.
Ellena: The whales I saw today, but also the night sky when it isn’t cloudy.
Mathilda: Eating pasta with pesto when I was seasick and seeing whales.
Lotta: Finally reaching warmer weather.
Charlotte: France and our first day on board.
Mats: There were no highlights.
Margot: Being able to go to watch without oilskin.
Sophie: The moment I stopped throwing up and was able to live like a normal person again.
Manja (Honorary C watch member): Sitting on the bridge and watching the sunrise with good weather.
Sebastian: The first day we had good weather and weren’t catapulted around the ship.

Holá mir geht’s weiterhin gut, muss zwar vielleicht zum Röntgen in Marokko, aber egal, ist auch ein Erlebnis. Ich hoffe, das Wetter ist nicht all zu schlecht bei euch… hab‘ euch lieb und bis ganz baldddd❤️❤️
