Shopping and Sail work

The day started at 07:30 o’clock with breakfast. After that, one group had to do work on deck, the other went to the supermarket to buy food and other items we need for the next three weeks.

I was in the group, with five other students, Helena and Josi, that went to the supermarket. The way was very short, we only needed 15 minutes. When we arrived we were separated in three groups. Each group got a list of different things to look after.

Because of the size of the supermarket we often had to ask were the things are we need. At the end we had 16 shopping carts. For example we bought 150 liters Milk. All six students that came with Helena and Josi had to leave the supermarket before the shopping tour was finished because the Captain invited us for pizza.

After we came back from the pizza shop, we had go finish the sail work because the sailmaker came to pick them up.
Later we tried to lift our anchor out of the water but it didn’t work. We brought the anchor to the ground, because our Captain need it for the docking maneuver.

We tried again to lift the anchor but sadly the anchor winsch broke. So now even when the anchor weren’t stuck we had no chance to lift it. After a few hours a mechanic from Horta came to our ship. After the last bit of sail work was done we had free shore leave. We needed to be back at 22:00 because at this time the anchor watch started.

With my free shore leave group we went to Peter Café Sport and ate dinner. The supermarket was the next stop and I bought for the first time in the last five months liquid shampoo. Yay. When we were back at the Johnny we were the only ones at the ship.

In the next hour more people came and we decided to watch a film. At the end we ended with The Perfect Date. It was really good film and it was fun to watch it and nobody had to hold the Beamer because he couldn’t fall from the table anymore.

We will enjoy the next Days on in Horta with delicious food and many adventures.
