“Now that you finally understand the awards our candidates have been competing for—without even knowing they existed—here come our moderators, who will bring light into the darkness of our minds.”

The moderator enters the stage.

Moderator:
“Thank you very much for the honor of presenting and handing out these awards. So let’s not wait any longer and begin—right after this short ad break.”

“There is still boatswain’s work to be done on this ship: Splicing, sewing, tackling, and working with ropes and sails. There’s work for everyone—on deck or in the rigging—and everything is free. Please come to Amir to receive your assignment. Let’s make our ship beautiful again!”

Moderator:
“Thank you for staying with us. Now please welcome our guests of honor: Miss Delia Vilz and her team—Andreas Bär, Fenia Mieschke, Luna Zirker, and last but definitely not least, the person with the most ‘Stay in Bed’ awards of all time: The one and only Niklas Westermann!”

They enter the stage.

Ms. Vilz:
“Thank you for the honor of presenting these awards. But this stage would not be complete without our amazing assistants—the watch leaders. I would like them to present the first award.”

Presenter:
“Here they are: the watch leaders Maxim Flegel, Miriam Schmidgall, and Nik—whose last name nobody can really pronounce.”

They enter the stage.

Maxim:
“I would like to present an award that means a lot to me: The Redhead Award for the best rage on board.”

(He opens an envelope.)

“The Redhead Award for the most legendary rage goes to Anton Dobmaier—for throwing a muesli bowl!”

Applause. Anton enters.

Anton:
“Thanks to everyone who helped me achieve this award—but especially to my biggest idol. And I have to say this in German: Danke, Johan!”

Nik:
“As everyone knows, I love fish—so the friends of fish are my friends too. That’s why I’m presenting the Fisherman’s Friend Award for the highest puke count. And we all know who won this. Please come on stage, Linn!”

Linn:
“Just a number: 78.”

Miriam:
“And last but not least, I would like to present the award for the person who eased the most—also known as the ‘Royal Gording zu Zweit Fierer.’”

(Opens envelope, grinning.)

“No surprise here… the winner is Max Zarnekow!”

Max:
“Thank you all for your support. You always need someone to haul so someone else can ease—so thanks to everyone who hauled and hauled and hauled so I could win this.”

Delia:
“I’ll take over from here. As the person responsible for making sure everyone works hard enough on board, it is my honor to present the Workhorse Award.”

(Opens envelope.)

“I would first like to give an honorable mention to Ella—you would have deserved this award as well. But the winner is… Julian Cordes!”

Julian:
“I want to thank everyone who made it possible for us to work as much as we did. Special thanks to Verena for teaching Kilian and me how to work with the engine, and to René for continuing to mentor us.”

Delia:
“And I would also like to thank the entire crew for showing us life offshore—teaching us how to sail and live on a ship like the Roald.”

Andreas:
“As a German teacher, I have also been paying close attention to the quotes on board. So I present the award for the best quote. The winner is: ‘Dutch is a mix of German, English, and a bit of Dutch.’ For safety reasons, the author remains anonymous.”

Niklas Westermann:
“Now we come to my personal favorite category—the Sheep Lover Award for the person who sleeps the most. It was a close competition, but the winner is… Levi Baltzer!”

Levi:
“You might ask how it’s possible to sleep so well on a ship—I don’t know either. But if there’s an ‘All Hands,’ you can always say there isn’t and get five more minutes of sleep.”

Fenia:
“As the former chef on board, I know how challenging cooking can be—especially in rough seas. That’s why we now present the Future Star Award for the best chef.”

(Opens envelope.)

“Paula Martens!”

Paula:
“Thank you! But cooking is always a team effort—cleaning and washing dishes are just as important.”

Luna:
“Chicken has been one of our most important foods on board. So we present the KFC Trophy for the best chicken chef.”

(Opens envelope.)

“Mateo Hansmann!”

Mateo:
“Cooking for fifty hungry people is a challenge—but making it taste good is an even bigger one. I’m grateful everyone enjoyed it.”

Delia:
“Happiness is essential on board. That’s why we present the Sunshine Award for the nicest people: Lotta ‘Lotti’ Wehn and Mona Schmidt!”

Lotti:
“Thank you—it means a lot that we could make this time special for everyone.”

Mona:
“There are many more people who deserve this too—but thank you so much.”

Moderator:
“Sorry to interrupt these great vibes—but here is today’s report.”

“Today was a busy day. We continued the deep clean that started yesterday. We also neatly packed all sails in preparation for our arrival in Amsterdam. Afterwards, we went to the beach, played volleyball, and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon. In the evening, we had dinner together—wraps for everyone. Later, we watched introduction videos and photos taken by Mr. Westermann. Finally, we celebrated Bayern’s 4–3 victory over Real Madrid.”

Moderator:
“Thank you for staying with us. Let’s continue.”

Andreas:
“As a history lover, I care deeply about kings and queens. Today, we honor our Shortqueen: Louisa Graf!”

Louisa:
“Thank you—but 1.61 m is a perfectly normal height!”

“And now, the Shortking: Anton Dobmaier!”

(A voice from the audience:)
“I’m 180 cm—that’s not short!”

Audience:
“You’re not 180—you’re 175!”

Niklas:
“Next: the Messi 4 Life Trophy for the messiest person—Mila Harberger!”

Mila:
“I’m not messy—I’m just… creatively organized.”

Luna:
“And now the opposite: the Ronaldo Award for the most organized person—Nienke Jonas!”

Nienke:
“Hard-earned. With notebook, planner, and no sleep.”
