In this daily report, I write about the things that happened during the night. Some lists and one poem are also included. I hope you all enjoy reading this.

From losing another sail to the rudder that doesn’t work

The day for the B watch started with Sören, who tried to wake us up. “Your watch starts in five minutes,” he said. Tired from the seasickness, I tried to understand what he was saying. From the other side of the room, Liv asked, “Why don’t you wake us up earlier?”

“Because we lost another sail,” Sören answered. It was the Klüver three we had lost. Rest in peace.

On this early morning, some more things happened. I stood at the rudder and unexpectedly I had no control over the ship. Jürgen came because we were sailing the wrong course. He realized that the rudder had no effect on how the ship was sailing. He talked with our captain, Norbert and they came to the conclusion that we had to steer from the bridge.

Don’t worry, the bridge has its own very well-working rudder. When the B watch had watch again, André had already repaired the rudder. The watch before us had fixed the Klüver already.

All in all, the things that broke this early morning got fixed already.

Rainforest and Princess Cabins

When we started sailing again, the princess cabin transformed back into a rainforest. But this time we were well prepared. When we saw the first drops falling from the ceiling, we covered the ceiling and walls with duc tape and trash bags.

In one moment, you think you did a great job and in the next, you see another drop over your head. Water finds its way, whether you want it or not. The weather is just to hard.

Things we lost in the last two and a half weeks

Not even a month we have been on the Johnny now and still, we lost a few things.
Following is a list of all the stuff that broke or disappeared and show the conditions we are in:

  1. The safety tent (we got new one in Brest)
  2. Klüver 2 (fixed)
  3. Klüver 3 (fixed)
  4. Storm Klüver (fixed)
  5. Schoner (fixed)
  6. Gaffelgail (fixed)
  7. Rudder (repaired by Hero Andre)
  8. Cutlery (lost)
  9. Pudding (all over in the Messroom)
  10. Liv’s MP3 player? (working on it)
  11. Dry oilskin (hardcore conditions)
  12. Brain cells (normal)
  13. German flag (not acceptable)
Some of these things we did not expect to lose.

Poem from the Johnny

Over two weeks we are here,
On the Johnny we call our home,
The next half a year.
Many things we already experienced,
From throwing up to singing at night.
So many things we will see,
So many things we will learn,
And yet we call it home.
A journey we will never forget
Is waiting for us all.
Sometimes we all think, “No,
What are we doing here?”
But the next day we are happy to be here.

All Hands on Deck

Because of the wind, we had to sail a Wende. It was pretty cool.

Greetings:

Helena: Alles Liebe zum Geburtstag Anne G. und lass‘ Dich schön feiern! Grüße an Mondorf von See und bis denne👯‍♀️
