Imagine having lunch with your kids by a beautiful waterfall and suddenly you get flashed by a bunch of teenage boys, that’s what happens when you’re unlucky enough to be in the same place as our group.

But let’s start at the beginning:

Today started a bit later than usual because, for the first time since Amsterdam, we were allowed to sleep until 10:45 (without having 0–4 watch). Most of us, me included, weren’t able to actually sleep that long, probably due to not being used to it, the sun, the noise of birds singing and other students.

But no worries, we could still make use of the extra time before breakfast. For example, I went on a walk, exploring the surroundings and enjoying the rare peace and quiet.

After breakfast, the trucks that would take us to the waterfall arrived.

By now, we’ve become accustomed to sitting on the back of a truck while it’s driving, but it’s still an amazing experience every time, especially with music. Upon our arrival, we were all stunned by the beautiful view of the waterfall and the smell of the food other people were eating.

The water was ice-cold and flowing fast, so most people didn’t go in right away. Then a group of our boys walked in and one after the other (with screams of “it’s so cold”) went under the waterfall.

Then they must have decided it would be more fun to all go together and with the water bashing on their heads, they got the bright idea that it would make a great picture if they all stood there, their backs to us and pulled down their pants.

Much to the amusement and shock of everybody on land, suddenly the waterfall wasn’t the only unusual sight.

After that, the day went on with swimming, freezing, eating (mostly chicken nuggets and ice cream) and laughing together.

Back at the coffee farm, we packed our stuff and ate a delicious dinner to the sound of a DJ Carlos rented for us. Tomorrow, the expeditions will start, so keep reading to find out what we will get up to.
