Today is the first Christmas Day, so it was an exciting day. In the morning we had a tasty breakfast, made of self-baked bread, guacamole and all possible toppings for the bread.

After that we needed to take care of our Christmas present, the sailing boat that drifted towards us. Because of this, the captain went to the island to the harbour authority to find a solution for the situation. After one hour the police came with their boat to tow the ship into a safe harbour to park it there.

When it was gone, we lifted the anchor and set the Großsail, Schonersail, Baumfock and Klüver to start the adventure to Panama.

For lunch we had the tasty leftovers of the pizza from Christmas and a watermelon-feta salad. For dessert we had vanilla ice cream with different toppings.

In the afternoon we had nearly zero wind, so we needed to take down the sails. We chilled and started with the Großsail, but in the middle of the manoeuvre an extreme rain shower started – and that five times. It was so extreme that we got completely wet and said, “Well, now that we’re so wet, we can continue,” and brought the other sails down as well.

And then for dinner we had a three-course menu:

Stage: tomato crouton salad
Stage: roast with red cabbage and spinach dumplings
Stage: quark raspberry dessert

After all, we had a really nice first Christmas Day.

Mats: Hallo an alle! Mein Weihnachten war super! Ich war zwar nicht ganz in Weihnachtsstimmung, dennoch habe ich die Weihnachtstage sehr genossen. Ich hoffe, ihr hattet viel Schnee und eine genauso tolle Zeit wie ich! Ab jetzt muss ich wieder viel Schule machen, weil bald bereits neue Arbeiten kommen.
