Sunday in a different way

Today was a bit special, because all the boys with some helping girls did the Backschaft, so that we will switch the groups and the other half will do the Backschaft for the day next Sunday. That’s a cool concept because that way everybody can have at least some free time to enjoy the Sunday.

So we didn’t ate breakfast at 07:30 like normally but we had brunch at 11:30 so that everybody could sleep until 10:30. Then we all had to wake up because our captain Jörn wanted to celebrate something called mess or church wehere everybody comes to the Achterdeck and the captain says some words and the crew can say everything they want to to their captain.

Nepomuk presentet us a poem (John Maynard). After that we had delicious brunch with crêpes, baguette and hand made Nutella.

The rest of our day was chilled: Some people were sleeping, some laying on our fore deck and enjoying the sun. It was a really chilled day because of the sun and the small waves. Then a few people asked, if they can climb up the mast up to our Rah to enjoy the sunset. After they did we had a great bolognese for dinner.

Mats: Hallo an alle, mir gehts super, ich konnte in letzter Zeit meinen Schlaf nachholen – und Backschaft werd‘ ich auch erst wieder auf den Azoren haben. Ich hoffe, es geht euch auch gut!

P.S.: Und heute zeigte sich der unschlagbare Vorteil, mit einer Flotte von zwei Schiffen über den Atlantik zu segeln, weil uns unser Schwesterschiff, die Roald Amundsen, mit Medikamenten aushelfen konnte; heute gab es mitten im Nirgendwo ein schönes Treffen:)
