The day started again with the fact that we were all woken up for breakfast and it was announced that we would bunker at 10 a.m. Then there was a green plan from the school group and after that two hours of self-learning time. Most of them were still working on their English job applications or their CVs, as they should on March 3rd. should be submitted.

Paul and Vincent then helped Andreas with the bunkers for about one hour and one had to take the quantity of the refilled fuel and the other held the communication between the taker and Andreas. The bunkering went well so far and after an hour we were finished again.

At 11 a.m. the first group finally started to deal with the Free Shore Leave Challenge. The challenge worked like this: The groups that were by the way the new watch group halves started with a time interval and had to answer the following questions (also with photos) :

How many whistles does the organ in the St. Peters Church Have?

How many people can sit in the towne hall?

Take a picture of a Bermuda Bay Grape?

Take a picture of you and the Banner of the Royal Bermuda Artillery Association?

When did Allen Elliot Lockhart die?

Until when took a local family gates fort?

We had time until 3 p.m. and the groups experienced a lot of different things. For example, one group sat more in the meadow and was waiting for passers-by and asked them and another group found a small boat and paddled across a bay to get the photos.

Some were also driven to their destinations by the bus driver and others just ran from spot to spot. In any case, we were supposed to give up our results by 3 p.m. and the price for the fastest group was one meal for every group member worth 25 dollars.

After that, of course, everyone helped out and helped the Backschaft to prepare for a barbecue in the evening. We put the grill on the pier with a little architectural creativity on the pier, sliced or fried. In the evening there was a feast on the pier with all the trimmings (after all, it was also the “captains‘ food”).

Alex finally gave a speech about our journey and we cleared everything again. When the Backschaft was finished with the dishes, we were able to go again for free shore leave.

We, as a group of about 10, went into a bunker that was beaten in a rock face near Tabaco Bay. The bunker was a system of corridors and rooms reminiscent of Lord of the Rings, Fight Club and World War II at the same time.

There was a main aisle of many small side aisles that were connected to each other and in front of each side aisle was a rusty iron mesh bar that had broken up. We stepped around the bunker until we thought that we saw everything. Otherwise we sat outside a little bit and chatted a little.
