Sooooooo for you people who don’t have time for whatever reason to hear this podcast: I mean, this podcast only takes 20 minutes of your precious time and it’s worth it (the podcast always has priority ;-)). Here is a shortened, written version of it. Its topic is a recap of our stay in Costa Rica. My guests in this episode were Luisa and Wilma.

The podcast is called the anchor watch podcast because it is recorded during anchor watch, in this case at 04:00 in the morning anchoring in front of Bocas del Toro, which is why you can hear the sleepiness in our voices.

The original idea originated in a pretty shitty (the weather wasn’t great) harbour watch back in Roscoff due to restrictions for harbour watches that were in place at that time, meaning you couldn’t do anything but talk and freeze on the maindeck.

The recording of such a podcast was not possible because if you were “caught” you would get scolded by the captain. As time went by and the rules weren’t as strict anymore it became possible to do stuff like record podcasts, play games or music during watches. Now we’re able to annoy you with that kind of stuff.

But now, back to our topic. In the podcast, we exchange opinions about questions like “did the trip to Costa Rica change your opinion of the country?” Or “what do you think of Costa Rica’s people?” And last but not least, a whole lot of specific questions about the program we had.

If you want to find out our opinion on these topics and many more little details of the ships life, I guess you will need to hear the podcast! 🙂

P.S.: The recording of the podcast was a lot of fun so I gathered the motivation to make more of them: Other topics will be Engineering, Galley and many more.

Maybe it will be published on the Ocean College website, maybe it will not, we’ll see.
