Waking up to horrible music is always a struggle.

Niklas wakes us up every morning with his „phenomenal“ wake-up playlist. He bangs on the doors, shouts loudly „Aufstehen“ and grabs pots from the kitchen, banging on them with a spoon until our cook yells for him to return them.

After we all woke up and had breakfast, it was time for the moment we’d all been waiting for… Happy Hour. Everyone was assigned a job and got to work. In every part of the ship, you could hear different songs – whether in the messroom, cabins, bathrooms, galley or on deck. Malte had the best job. Marie gave him the task of inspecting every part of the ship to see if there was any dust in the corners. He took his job seriously and annoyed us as much as possible.

After the deep clean, we had lunch and a ship meeting. The teachers gave us free shore leave, and we all went out. We visited the Johann Smidt, which had arrived in the harbor today. The students were all gone, but we met up with them in the city. We also bought some snacks and sent off our last letters.

At 4 pm, we had to be back. We were ready to play a match against the Johann Smidt, but they weren’t, so we went out to train. We all grabbed our sports gear and headed to a soccer field. There, we met some really friendly Spanish street ballers and played against them. Other teams showed up at the field as well. Enno, Nico and Kasper, our „Spanish guys,“ took charge of the rules and timing. We won the first game, but unfortunately lost the second in a penalty shootout, though we played really well.

After everyone was exhausted, we headed back to the Reggie, where our cook made some delicious mashed potatoes with chicken and vegetables.

It was a really nice and active day! We can’t wait to set sail on Sunday for Morocco!
