An experience of a lifetime, regardless of income

A trip with Ocean College is a formative life experience. However, the participation fee poses a major challenge for many families. That is why we are committed to ensuring that young people whose families cannot afford the costs can also come on board.

Strong together

Thanks to generous support from parents of former participants and the funding of a scholarship place by Ocean College, we have been able to award five full scholarships worth a total of over €130,000 to date.

We are delighted to have received an additional €55,000 for the upcoming trip 25/26 – enough to enable two more young people to enjoy this special experience. Paula and Sandro will be joining us thanks to funding from BG Zuffenhausen and parents of trip 24/25.

Want to come aboard?

The conditions for a scholarship:

  • Proof of social assistance (citizen’s income or housing allowance) from parents
  • Student, aged 15-17
  • Current school report
  • Meaningful application
  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher

The following are not included in the cost of the trip:

  • Travel to and from the ship
  • Travel equipment (backpack, pocket knife, etc.)
  • Vaccination costs
  • International health insurance
  • Pocket money

These additional costs amount to a total of approximately EUR 1,600.

We will provide the sailing equipment for the trip.
